Post Description
Leaf Hound is the First and Only Album by the English Hard-Rock Band Leaf Hound.
Formed in the midst of the Late 60's Blues-Rock, Hard-Rock explosion, The first incarnation was assembled in 1969 with the name Black Cat Bones. They released one Album for Decca (Barbed Wire Sandwich), but shortly after they sacked their Vocalist, adding Peter French, and there were a number of other changes in the Line-Up, culminating in the name change, becoming Leaf Hound. Leaf Hound went on a Tour though Europe and it seems that they left quite an impact in Germany as they released their single, Drowned My Life In Fear, and a First version of Growers Of Mushroom which didn't have the Title-Track, an error only corrected on the British Release of the Album. Growers Of Mushroom was supposedly recorded in only 11 hours in Mayfair's Spot Studios, in late 1970. Decca Records finally decided in 1971 to release it outside of Germany but by the time French had already moved over to Atomic Rooster, and soon the Band broke up. Over the years Growers Of Mushroom has become a collectable Album, an original reaching the price of 1,300 Dollars.
Best Tracks - "Freelance Fiend", "Sad Road To The Sea", "Drowned My Life In Fear", "Work My Body", "Growers Of Mushroom" and "it's Going To Get Better". The Cover is a great drawn of the Band Members in a green, yellow and red field of Mushrooms, it is a fantastic cover indeed.
