Rolling Stone Magazine bracht in november 2004 een lijst uit met de "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Deze lijst vormt een uitgelezen muziekmix verspreid over de afgelopen 50 jaar en bevat een breed scala aan artiesten. 
De Rolling Stone 500 is samengesteld door 172 kiezers bestaande uit rock artiesten en bekende rock muziek experts.
Deze keuzes werden ingediend en gerangschikt in volgorde van hun favoriete 50 Rock & Roll / Pop liedjes. 
Daarna werden de nummers vervolgens geteld om zo de 500 "Greatest Songs of All Time" te creëren.

Ik heb de 500 tracks verdeeld over 5 volumes en dus bevat ieder volume nu 100 tracks.
