*** Nits is een Nederlandse popgroep die in 1974 werd opgericht. De kern van de band bestaat uit zanger en tekstschrijver Henk Hofstede, Rob Kloet (percussie) en Robert Jan Stips (keyboard).

De band was vooral in de jaren 80 zeer populair (toen nog als The Nits). De groep scoorde toen hits met nummers als "Nescio", "In The Dutch Mountains" en "J.O.S. Days". Daarna nam het commerciële succes af. Wel oogsten de Nits in zowel binnen- als buitenland nog steeds lof met hun platen en optredens. ***
