Het is de taak van Sulley en z'n collega's om kleine kinderen bang te maken, en vervolgens de angstkreten (die als energiebron gebruikt worden) op te vangen. Op een dag wordt er per ongeluk een kind mee teruggebracht, wat tot grote chaos leidt.
