Sonata Arctica is een powermetalband, afkomstig uit Finland. Sonata Arctica speelt een zeer melodische vorm van powermetal. De meeste teksten zijn geschreven door Tony Kakko, al brengt Sonata Arctica ook veel heruitvoeringen van reeds bestaande muziek.
