Cool Record Edit Deluxe is a complex audio processing tool that allows you to record, edit and burn tracks to disc.  It can handle many file types, including OGG, MP3, WMA, CDA and WAV.

The program comes with a user-friendly interface; importing an audio track can be done with the help of the file browser or 'drag and drop' method.

Cool Record Edit Deluxe allows you to record music from the computer or external device, by selecting the device and line in, and by adjusting the volume level. Plus, you can import music from a video track or audio CD, as well as download clips from YouTube.

The software application comes with a wide range of customization properties that revolve around amplitude and compression (e.g. fade, normalize), delay and echo, filters and equalization, modulation (e.g. chorus, flanger), restoration (e.g. noise reduction), stereo imagery (channel mixer), time and pitch, just to name a few.

In addition, you can edit ID3 tags, analyze the sample rate, use a standard text-to-speech tool, convert multiple audio formats simultaneously, merge items, rip an audio CD, resample, crop and trim audio, mix two files together, as well as set bookmarks and add regions.

From the 'Options' ribbon tab you can toggle between spectral and waveform mode along with left and right channel mode, reconfigure keyboard shortcuts, hide the command bar, as well as set Cool Record Edit Deluxe to automatically play the file when opened and after selecting a region.

The audio processing utility contains user documentation, has a good response time and uses a moderate amount of CPU and system memory. It did not cause us any problems during our evaluation; Cool Record Edit Deluxe did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. First-time users probably experience difficulties in running this app, since its features are pretty advanced, overall.
