*** Danny and the Juniors is een band uit Philidelphia en bestaat uit Danny Rapp, Dave White, Frank Maffei en Joe Terranova. De band begint in 1955 als The Juvinairs. Hun label verandert de naam naar Danny and the Juniors. 

De band maakt een nummer om een nieuw soort dans te accommoderen, die bekend was geworden op de TV show van Dick Clark. Het nummer heet in eerste instantie 'Do the Bop', maar op aanraden van Dick Clark wordt het nummer omgedoopt naar 'At the Hop'.
At the hop
Het nummer wordt een gigantische hit. Wereldwijd zijn er meer dan twee miljoen singles verkocht. In de jaren 1960 heeft de band nog één hitsingle, maar kan eerder succes niet evenaren. In 1976 wordt 'At the Hop 'nogmaals uitgebracht en haalt in Groot- Brittannië de Top 40.De groep (nu een trio) is nog steeds te vinden op podia's in de Verenigde Staten. ***
